About

Dr. Brook Phillips is originally from Northern California.  After completing graduate school, he relocated to Santa Barbara in 2000.  He has been specialist certified in orthopedics since 2007 with the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists.

He has been treating sports, orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries in the outpatient setting for over 20 years.   He lives in SB with his wife and daughter and enjoys most outdoor activities including paddle boarding, hiking, running and volleyball.

His treatment philosophy is predicated on restoring the bodies balance and innate symmetry to reduce compensations and improve overall efficiency.   He believes firmly that addressing the source of the problem instead of just treating symptoms leads to successful outcomes.

COVID-19 Our Commitment to Keeping Clients and Staff Safe

We continue to monitor and follow the evolving recommendations from the CDC as well as state and local goverments.  In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, SBDPT has enhanced health and safety procedures in our facility and work processes to promote health and control the spread of the virus. We continuously monitor updates to CDC recommendations and adjust protocols and processes accordingly. We want to take the opportunity to share more details about the comprehensive measures we have implemented.

Screening Procedures

Prior to receiving treatment:

  • A temperature check will be performed using a no-touch infrared thermometer.
  • All staff and clients will wear masks at all times.
  • All surfaces will be cleaned between clients with cleaning products certified by the CDC as effective against COVID-19.
  • Patients may be asked to provide proof of vaccination in the future

In addition, clients will be asked screening questions to determine the presence of any of the following:

  • Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea
  • If you have traveled internationally and any other travel based on current local travel mandates for your area.
  • If you have had close contact with a person confirmed to have the COVID-19 coronavirus.
  • If you are currently waiting for COVID-19 test results for yourself.

A “yes” to any of the above questions will require further evaluation and may delay treatment.
